ABOUT SHELBY BECKLER

It wasn’t until my sophomore year at South Pointe High School did I discover something that sparked my interest. I remember the moment so vividly as I sat in the back right side of my Journalism 101 classroom. All I heard was this woman talking about journalism. But somehow, in that moment, I felt drawn to this idea of storytelling. This interest soon took me on a journey where I found my identity and found my undying passion for writing, social media and photography and for that I am forever grateful for. 

From standing on the sideline of Williams-Brice Stadium covering my high school state championship to leading social strategy for Charlotte FC, my excitement for storytelling hasn’t changed. The digital space has taught me how to manage my time, build relationships and to never give up. I still take trips back to the classroom where it all began for me and I still get a tingling sensation that runs through my body, which means that I can finally answer the question of who I want to be and who I am: a storyteller.
